I’m Caroline, the founder of Tiger Play Therapy and a Certified Play Therapist. I have spent over thirty years working with children and families in various roles, as a teacher, governess, nanny, and nursery nurse, both in the UK and internationally. My teaching background includes Secondary Performing Arts, specialising in Drama, and Early Years Education, following the International Baccalaureate curriculum overseas.
Across all these experiences, my focus has remained the same: to help children grow in confidence and find their voice. At Tiger Play Therapy, my ethos is guided by the values of Trust, Imagination, Growth, Empathy, and Resilience (T.I.G.E.R.). These values underpin every session, creating a space where children feel safe, understood, and supported in their emotional world.
I work with schools, charities, and private families, offering play and creative arts therapy that encourages children to explore feelings, build self-esteem, and strengthen relationships. My approach is both professional and nurturing, grounded in empathy and respect, and centred on building a genuine rapport where children and young people can truly flourish.

I chose the name Tiger because it is my Chinese zodiac sign, and in Eastern cultures, tigers are admired for their beauty, strength, and the way they nurture their cubs while encouraging independence. These qualities reflect my approach to play therapy, offering safety, empathy, and support, enabling children to grow and thrive.
Most children are naturally drawn to tigers, making it a friendly and empowering symbol of our work together. The Tiger mantra we sometimes use in sessions captures this spirit perfectly:
“I am safe, I am strong, I carry my roar with me.”
(Hands on heart, curl biceps, tiger claws)
As a professional member of Play Therapy UK (PTUK), my work is underpinned by their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Framework, ensuring the highest standards of safety, integrity, and care. These principles safeguard both myself and the children I work with, ensuring that each session places the child’s needs and wellbeing firmly at its heart.
Contact me or book an appointment HERE. I will get back to you to arrange a convenient time to have an initial 20-minute informal conversation. We can discuss your concerns, and you can complete the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, a short behavioural screening questionnaire. I work with children aged between 4 – 13 years old. The questionnaire is used to assess if Play Therapy is a suitable intervention for your child. The next step would be for us to meet and further discuss your concerns, as well as learn more about your child.
